“Dropping Bombs” — and dropping knowledge. Entrepreneur and partial New York Yankees owner Patrick Bet-David appeared on Brad Lea’s podcast to unearth the keys to personal, business and life success, all in deep discussion with the podcast host.
Bet-David’s own story is a testament to resilience and ambition: His family immigrated to the United States when he was just 10 years old, fleeing Iran as refugees during the Iranian Revolution. Having no choice but to adapt and grow in a new country became the building blocks of his own success — along with the discipline and determination he gained from joining the military after high school.
When entering the finance world in his 20s, Bet-David bet on himself — founding the insurance sales, marketing and distribution company PHP Agency, Inc. From there, the business guru put his own entrepreneurial skills to work in order to help others build their own. He launched the media company Valuetainment, since lauded “the best channel for entrepreneurs,” which focuses on building entrepreneurs and personal development.
“You need self-worth to build a network,” the enterpriser advised, noting that finding your inner strength — and belief in your business and yourself — will give you the tools to go out in the world and assemble your people.
In fact, he explained, it’s not even just about finding those who share your vision — it’s also about gleaning what you can learn from your adversaries, sharing the adage, “A wise man gets more from his enemies than a fool from his friends.”
Bet-David also knows a thing or two about playing with the big boys when it comes to finances.
“To have real money you have to be willing to play ball,” he told Lea, pointing to the importance of taking strategic risks in order to achieve success. Patrick discussed the need for strategic risk-taking in the pursuit of financial success.
Ultimately, Bet-David doesn’t believe in limitations. “When something drives you, very few things can stop you,” he stated.
