Unlocked podcast host Savannah Chrisley is not going to let being politically correct get in the way of a good conversation — and neither is this week’s guest, entrepreneur Brad Lea.
Lea, 55, who is also a podcaster himself, and an influencer, has been known for his unapologetically direct style and penchant for sharing his controversial views on everything from marriage and dating to finances and therapy.
Their discussion kicks off in the world of finances, with Lea sharing his strong opinions on who should be the breadwinner in a relationship. Chrisley, 27, admits that she was worried she wouldn’t like Lea at first, due to an old video where he shared his dislike at the idea of the woman he is with being beholden to her male boss.
This leads into a conversation where Lea gives his unfiltered advice on wealth-building, the mindset required to achieve success, and the importance of financial independence. Lea’s comments are often thought-provoking, and though much of his advice is practical, it does often threaten conventional wisdom.
The finances talk makes way to discussions on relationships and marriage, which is where Lea’s views could really ruffle some feathers. Chrisley, however, is not afraid of any pushback, asking follow-up questions and challenging Lea until they can get to the core of the issue. They discuss the dynamics of modern relationships and the role of communication in maintaining long-term partnerships.
The pair agree on a lot, but they don’t see eye-to-eye on all topics, least of all therapy, which Lea believes is a “female thing.” He’s very skeptical about traditional therapy, insisting that “the past is the past,” and exploring it has no bearing on the future. Chrisley balances the conversation as a proponent of therapy, opening up a discussion on how different generations handle trauma.
Chrisley also opens up about her recent trip to the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, and the thought-provoking discussions she had with people she wouldn’t have normally met otherwise, like the CEO of Pepsi.
