Real estate agent Kayla Lochte has opened the doors to her custom-built Florida spec home, which is “definitely not” her forever pad—after filing for divorce and accusing her estranged husband, Ryan, of drug use.
The 34-year-old model-turned-real estate-agent, who focuses on commercial and existing sales, has been at the center of headlines in recent weeks after filing for divorce from the 12-time Olympic medalist swimmer, 41, and asking the court to allow her sole custody of their children, Caiden, 8, Liv, 6, and Georgia, 2.
Kayla filed for divorce from the pro swimmer on March 26, but announced the news of their split in June via her Instagram account.
At the time, she revealed she “made the hard decision to end my marriage,” noting that she was “hesitant” to share the information because she didn’t want to “open wounds.”

“Sometimes we face trials we didn’t choose or see coming. And in those moments, we’re forced to make the hardest decisions to protect our peace, our children, and our future. I’ve come to the understanding that staying isn’t always the most loving decision someone can make. For me, leaving was an act of love—for those around me and for myself,” she said.
She noted that she would continue “living with transparency and authenticity” while also protecting “the parts of this journey that are private and unfolding in uncharted territory.”
Court documents obtained by Us Weekly then revealed that Kayla claimed that she found “mostly empty baggies of cocaine around the marital home as [Ryan] had consumed the majority of the contents before the baggies were discovered.”
The mom alleged that the bags were discovered underneath the dining room table, one of the children’s bedrooms and another kid’s bathroom counter. Kayla claimed Ryan had a “tendency to doze off during the day, often times after he” took the kids to school.
“Upon his return home, [Kayla] would find him passed out in the driver’s seat, with the car still on and the music blaring. [Ryan] has also fallen asleep while being the only adult watching the children because [Kayla] was working out of town,” the filing read.
Now, while speaking to Realtor.com®, Kayla revealed she is prioritizing feel “safe” in her next relationship and focusing on her children and her real estate career, which she has been surrounded with since she was a child thanks to her builder father.
Kayla, who is tapping into commercial listings, gave Realtor.com a look inside the home that she and Ryan once shared before their split—and why she is already looking ahead to where she could move next—in our latest installment of Celebrity Sanctuary.

So it was a spec house, and it was right before COVID hit, and we were like, we’ve been here in Gainesville for a few years now.
My soon-to-be ex-husband was training for the Olympics at the time and we were going to be here for another few years, so we were like what are we going to buy? Are we going to rent?
And so we’re like, let’s just look, you know, and see what’s out there. We really wanted a big yard, and wanted to be near a neighborhood called Tioga.
We ended up finding a house down the street from where we were renting. It was a spec home, so it didn’t have everything we desired, but everything kind of fell into place.
I have five bedrooms and 3.5 baths and we have made some changes since purchasing it in 2021.
So my dad was a builder, he’s also a master carpenter, so I was like, OK, dad, I need you to do some things, so it can feel a little more our home.
He put in a pergola. He built me some concrete pads in the back, with rock in between. So, extended our patio, because our patio was really small.
He built my closet that I’m in right now. He also built me beautiful arched built-ins with an electric fireplace and a mantle.
So we’ve made it a little bit more, you know, us, or me. And now I’ve kind of been adding some more, like, feminine aspects into the home.

Brown is my favorite color, so everything in my house is basically a shade of brown. I feel like it’s so calm and earth tone and neutral.
It’s so calming and peaceful in here, and that’s the goal. I love to have people over. I love for it to be calm.
My favorite area of my home is my closet for sure. I do everything in my closet. I do my interviews in here, I work from here, I shoot content in here. Yeah, it’s my favorite little space in my house.
The lot size is really good. We’re under a half acre, but I love that.
This definitely isn’t my forever home. I don’t know where I would go, but I would love to build a house. I’ve had a lot of memories in here, and I don’t know, it doesn’t feel like my forever home, even though I love this house, I think it’s a great home. Definitely not my forever home.

I have no idea who is going to get the house once my divorce is finalized. This house holds many memories for my kids, but when you are going through a divorce you never know who is going to get what. Only time will tell.
For now, I am focusing on my real estate career. I have my hands on a lot of different things, and I’m starting to get into commercial.
I’m very well-rounded and love to work. I think real estate is such a great career for me, because I like to connect people and puzzles, and I feel like that’s what it is. It’s like a matchmaking business.
