Ryan Lochte’s soon to be ex wife claimed the Olympian pulled their children out of school, and then hid their whereabouts, as their divorce took another nasty turn.
In court filings exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, the gold medalist’s wife, Kayla Rae Reid, filed papers this week alleging that Lochte, 41, took their kids out of school on Tuesday.

Reid said in her filing, “On or about September 24, 2025, the husband unilaterally pulled the children from school after sending the wife an Our Family Wizard message, the wife inquired as to the children’s whereabouts, but the husband refused to provide them.”
Reid also claimed Lochte’s teacher girlfriend, whose children go to the same school as their kids, has been “inappropriate” with the Lochte kids.
“Any temporary parenting plan should require the parents to conduct themselves in a manner designed, calculated and intended to require the maximum love, affection and respect by the children for the other parent.
“Additionally, each parent should take all necessary steps to ensure that their paramour does not in any way interfere with the other parent’s rights.”
Reid went on to claim in her latest divorce filing, “Currently, the husband is undermining the wife as a mother of their children as on multiple occasions, he brought his paramour of only a couple of months to the minor children’s school to have lunch with them.”
Lochte’s ex claimed that in one instance, his teacher girlfriend followed their 6-year-old daughter “down the school hallways, in an attempt to hug her, saying, ‘Come here, I need a hug,’ despite [their daughter’s] protests. The husband does nothing to eradicate his paramour’s inappropriate behavior.”
She also detailed the gold medalist’s yearly and monthly income.
The gold medalist’s image was tarnished when he was caught up in a fake robbery scandal during the 2016 Rio Olympics.
In her request for temporary alimony support, Reid claimed Lochte made $350,437.28 in 2024 and that his approximate net monthly income is $29,203.11.
Reid said the 41-year-old athlete has several businesses, conducts swim clinics across the country and has speaking engagements and other services he gets paid for.
She said while she made $196,160.44 last year as a realtor and influencer, her earnings are not guaranteed, and she claimed she has only made $11,997.60 so far this year.
She claimed her expenses total $17,091.92 a month as she is responsible for “all costs associated with the marital home and the expenses of the minor children.”
LOCHTE’S EX’S DRUG CLAIMS
In asking the court that she get sole parental responsibility and that Lochte be awarded only supervised visits, she realleged several claims while including new ones against the swimmer, whom she labeled as “irresponsible.”
Reid reiterated her drug use allegations against the swimmer, re-alleging she had found empty cocaine bags around the house and in their child’s bedroom.
She also re-alleged that he failed recent drug tests, including a hair follicle screening.
Reid said Lochte has claimed he had passed a recent drug test, after refusing to submit to a drug test for him to take the kids for an overnight.
She also alleged that he has driven the kids to school intoxicated.
“When the husband asked for the children to spend the night with him, the wife requested that he take an at-home drug test before the time sharing was to commence, but the husband refused. However, the husband, through counsel, now advises that he passed a drug test, yet no reports have been provided,” she claimed in her filing.

Reid said Lochte has claimed he is in an intensive outpatient program, but “the extent of [his] involvement is currently unknown.”
She cited his numerous motor vehicle accidents, including a recent accident exclusively revealed by The U.S. Sun in which he hit several public structures and totaled his car.
She also referenced The U.S. Sun’s exclusive reporting on the swimmer’s eviction notice from last month over back rent, which he later paid.
Reid is asking for temporary child and spousal support, majority timesharing with the children, all visits to be supervised until Lochte completes an inpatient rehab program, and for him to be required to undergo random drug screenings at her request before he “partakes in any time-sharing with the minor children or transports them in a motor vehicle.”
She also wants exclusive and/or permanent ownership of the material home in Florida, with Lochte paying all utilities, and she wants him to pay her attorney fees.
The U.S. Sun reached out to Lochte’s attorney for comment.
In early September, Lochte claimed he was 54 days sober in an Instagram post.
THEIR DIVORCE
Ryan Lochte has faced significant challenges this year, with his wife of seven years, Kayla Rae Reid, filing for divorce in March.
During their marriage, the pair had three children: Caiden, aged seven; Liv, aged five; and Georgia, who is 23 months old.
Lochte, a 12-time Olympic medallist, boasts an extraordinary record of six golds, three silvers, and three bronzes, making him the second-most decorated male swimmer in Olympic history, surpassed only by his former teammate Michael Phelps.
The 40-year-old swimmer recently released a statement addressing his divorce:
“I want to take a moment to acknowledge what Kayla shared.
“This past year has brought major changes for both of us as we’ve come to the difficult decision to end our marriage.
“I’m deeply grateful for the life we’ve built together and especially for the love we share for our three children.
“Although this decision hasn’t been easy, I believe it’s the right step toward peace and well-being for us both.”
Despite the separation, Lochte has found happiness again. Last month, he revealed he is in a relationship with Molly Gillihan, a 37-year-old kindergarten teacher. In an interview with PEOPLE, Lochte described himself as “the happiest I’ve ever been.”
The couple made their relationship Instagram official during the Fourth of July holiday.
