Las Vegas’ fall/winter 2023 calendar has been nonstop with major events from the opening of Sphere with U2:UV Achtung Baby Live in September to the long-awaited debut of Fontainebleau with Justin Timberlake and Paul Anka helming the festivities in December. Of course, there was also a little street race called Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix sandwiched in between.
With New Year’s Eve 2023 falling ideally on a Sunday — making it a four-day holiday weekend — the city hosts a private club and theater christening and residency openings as eight fireworks displays from The Strat to MGM Grand light up the sky above the Strip.
Below, keep reading for the best New Year’s Eve 2023 parties, concerts and events in Las Vegas, from performances by Christina Aguilera at The Venetian’s Voltaire Belle de Nuit, Kelly Clarkson at Planet Hollywood and Post Malone at Fontainebleau’s BleauLive Theater, to entertainment headlined by magician David Blaine, comedians Seth Meyer and John Oliver, burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese and much more.
The Poodle Room Debuts at Fontainebleau Las Vegas
The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reveals that Fontainebleau Las Vegas will preview the Poodle Room, a members-only lifestyle and social club atop its 67-story hotel tower on Dec. 31. This will be the first time anyone has seen the Strip from this vantage point as the Fontainebleau is the tallest occupiable building in Nevada. The invite-only A-list first-look pays homage to the original Poodle Room, with its prancing poodle logo on cocktail napkins and swizzle sticks, that served as a celebrity and socialite hangout at the original South Beach resort when it opened in 1954. Expect a mid-century maximal design by Rockwell Group, opulent florals from Jeff Leatham, bars serving cocktails in Baccarat glassware, an omakase sushi experience (which will be open to the public), a cigar room, a conservatory bathed in natural light and as the name suggests, poodle iconography everywhere. Josephine the Poodle is also the Fontainebleau Las Vegas mascot.
