How Ameerh Naran Wants to Reframe Luxury Through the Value of Time

How Ameerh Naran Wants to Reframe Luxury Through the Value of Time

Luxury, at its highest level, has always been misunderstood.

For decades, it was defined by what could be seen: the car in the driveway, the jet on the tarmac, the villa overlooking the sea. It was a world of craftsmanship, rarity, and visible excess. But for Ameerh Naran, the founder of Vimana Private Jets, luxury has entered a more sophisticated era, one where what matters most is often invisible.

Time.

Not the kind measured by watches or schedules, but the kind that shapes life itself.

“The more successful someone becomes, the more they value their time,” Naran says. “It’s always the same.”

It is a simple observation, but one that has become the foundation of his business, his philosophy, and increasingly, his legacy.

Over the last several years, Naran has steadily shaped Vimana into a highly curated private aviation operation, serving a discerning clientele whose lives often move across continents, industries, and time zones. He reports that his clients include business leaders, prominent families, and high-net-worth individuals with demanding schedules across finance, entertainment, and other influential sectors.

For many, private aviation represents status.

For Naran, it represents freedom.

But not the obvious kind.

Not merely the ability to board a jet and disappear into the sky, but the freedom that comes from removing friction from life entirely.

“Luxury today is going above and beyond what’s expected,” he says. “The jet itself is the bare minimum. That’s what you’re paying for. The real luxury is everything around it.”

That distinction is central to how Naran thinks.

To him, luxury is not reactive. It is anticipatory.

If a client is traveling to a major event, Vimana’s team is already thinking beyond the aircraft itself. They are considering where the client will stay, what events are happening nearby, who they may want access to, what logistics can be streamlined, and what opportunities can be unlocked.

Sometimes, the client doesn’t even know those opportunities exist.

That, Naran says, is where luxury truly begins.

“We minimize how much you need to think,” he explains. “That’s the greatest service.”

It is a philosophy shaped by observation.

At the highest level of wealth, Naran says people often become less interested in novelty and more committed to consistency. They are not chasing the newest restaurant reservation or the trendiest social scene. Instead, they return to the same places, the same homes, the same trusted routines.

The reason is simple: routine saves time, and time helps preserve peace of mind. For Naran, that understanding has become one of his clearest insights into the psychology of high-net-worth clients.

Once someone has access to everything, access itself loses value.

What matters is efficiency.

Comfort.

Predictability.

And above all, the ability to say yes without disruption.

Naran offers a perfect example.

Imagine waking up in Munich and receiving a spontaneous invitation to Mykonos for dinner that night.

Commercially, that kind of travel may be possible. In practice, though, it can be exhausting: airport transfers, security lines, delays, boarding, luggage, and immigration all add friction.

Private aviation is designed to reduce much of that complexity.

“You drive straight to the aircraft, get on, and go,” Naran says. “You arrive and go straight to dinner. That’s freedom.”

That kind of seamlessness can change the way people move through their lives. It gives them more room to act on opportunities as they arise, to take meetings, attend events, see loved ones, and make decisions based less on friction and more on what matters most.

For Naran, that is where modern luxury is heading. Not simply toward abundance, but toward optionality.

Yet behind the polished veneer of this world lies a discipline few people ever see.

Private aviation, he says, is one of the most unforgiving businesses in luxury.

“You’re only as good as your last transaction.”

It is not an exaggeration.

A delayed response.

A forgotten dietary preference.

Five lost minutes.

At Vimana’s level, those details can cost everything.

Naran estimates there are fewer than a thousand people globally who spend at the level his company serves, with some clients moving upwards of a million dollars a month in aviation spend.

Acquiring those clients is difficult.

Keeping them requires perfection.

“There’s no room for error,” he says.

That obsession with detail reflects Naran’s personal evolution as much as his business.

In recent years, he has become increasingly focused on something he believes will shape the future of luxury even more than speed: wellness.

To Naran, private aviation and wellness are naturally connected because both ultimately serve the same purpose.

At the highest level, both are about time. Private aviation helps preserve it through efficiency, while wellness supports it through longevity.

Together, they represent what he sees as the next evolution of luxury.

“The quality of your time matters just as much as the quantity,” he says.

It is why Vimana is now integrating wellness into its aviation model, rethinking the journey itself as part of a larger health optimization strategy.

Stress reduction.

Sleep optimization.

Recovery.

Jet lag mitigation.

Nutritional precision.

Mental clarity.

To Naran, commercial travel has always been an overlooked drain on physical and cognitive performance. The chaos of terminals, rigid schedules, and constant overstimulation all take a toll.

Private aviation is designed to reduce much of that stress. But Naran believes the next generation of elite travel will go further, helping clients not only move more easily, but arrive feeling prepared, focused, and at their best.

That vision closely reflects his own approach to life.

Over the last several years, Naran has made physical and mental optimization a central part of his life. He trains five days a week, runs on the days he is not in the gym, treats sleep as a priority, and has significantly reduced alcohol and caffeine.

His focus now is intentional.

Disciplined.

Measured.

He has immersed himself in programs like Dave Asprey’s 40 Years of Zen and motorsport performance training in Madrid, seeking to sharpen not just his body, but his mind.

“Wellness excites me,” he says simply.

That excitement extends beyond business.

For someone who has seen virtually every luxury destination in the world, the place currently inspiring him most is unexpectedly simple: Zimbabwe.

It is there, among the slower rhythms of nature and family, that Naran finds something increasingly rare in his world.

Stillness.

He describes it as spiritual.

A place where life slows down enough for perspective to return.

For someone who has built much of his work around movement, the contrast feels revealing. More than anything, Naran seems to understand that luxury is no longer only about moving faster. It is about balance: knowing when speed matters, when slowing down matters more, and how to protect time, extend quality of life, and approach both with intention.

Twenty years from now, when Naran looks back on what he has built, he hopes his legacy will be measured less by aircraft or destinations than by the lives made easier through seamlessness, peace of mind, and time returned.

In a world where almost everything can be bought, he has chosen to build around one of the few things that cannot. In doing so, he may be helping to redefine what luxury means now.
